Sarah Sydenham
Community Schemes Consultant
After completing her LLB at Stellenbosch University, Sarah pursued an LLM in Public Law at the same institution, where she was supervised by the former Public Protector, Professor Thuli Madonsela. During the final year of her master's degree, she worked at the Law Faculty's Social Justice Centre, understanding the practical influence of the law in everyday life.
Sarah then completed her articles at a boutique law firm in Cape Town, where she gained exposure to a wide range of legal fields. While working on various commercial, contract, and litigation matters, she developed a particular interest in community schemes. This included working on levy collection matters and CSOS disputes, which gave her a solid foundation in the unique legal challenges facing community living.
Sarah is dedicated to helping clients navigate the complexities of community schemes. She is especially passionate about how these laws directly impact people's lives and has a particular interest in issues surrounding pets and short-term letting. She also maintains a keen interest in the intersection of community scheme law and constitutional rights. Outside of the office, Sarah is a devoted animal lover, who has been a vegetarian for over a decade, she enjoys reading in her spare time, and (some would say most importantly) also resides in a sectional title scheme.
Sarah Sydenham, an admitted attorney, brings a well-rounded legal background and a passion for community schemes to her role.
